What is the environmental protection board grade standard? How to choose environmentally friendly board?

What are the environmental protection boards

Solid plywood  solid wood panels are one of environmentally friendly furniture panels, and solid wood panels are wood panels made of complete wood. These boards are durable and have natural textures, making them the best choice for furniture manufacturing.

MDF board  MDF is one of environmentally friendly mdf furniture board. density board is also called fiberboard. It is made of wood fiber or other plant fibers, and is made of urea-formaldehyde resin or other applicable adhesives.

Particleboard  particle board is one of the environmentally friendly furniture board. particleboard is a thin board made of wood scraps as the main raw material, and then glue and additives are pressed.

Fire resistant board  Fire-resistant board is a decorative board made by autoclave technology using siliceous materials or calcium materials as the main raw materials, mixed with a certain proportion of fiber materials, lightweight aggregates, adhesives and chemical additives.

Wood plastic mdf board  wood plastic products have the advantages of non-toxic, corrosion-resistant, moisture-proof, sound insulation, weather resistance, and aging resistance. They can be sawed, planed, nailed, drilled, and riveted like wood, which can replace the poisonous gas pollution on the market for decoration material.

Does environmental protection board have formaldehyde?

Environmentally friendly materials also contain formaldehyde. There are two types of environmentally-friendly decorative materials, one is non-toxic and harmless, and the other is low-toxic and low-emission type. Non-toxic and harmless refers to products that do not contain any harmful substances and do not release harmful substances. Low-toxicity and low-emission products refer to processing, synthesis and other technical means to control the toxicity, such as the accumulation and slow release of some harmful substances, because of their slight toxicity, it can be said that they will not cause harm to human health.

Environmental protection board grade and standard

E-level certification

The E-level standard is not only my country's national standard certification. The E-level certification originated in Germany and refers to the environmental protection standard of the formaldehyde emission limit level. It was formulated by "EGGER" and later cited as a European standard.

E0 level: refers to formaldehyde emission ≤0.5mg/L

E1 level: refers to the amount of formaldehyde released 0.5mg-1.5mg/L

Level E2: Formaldehyde emission is greater than 1.5mg/L, less than 5mg/L

The industry stipulates that E2 level is not allowed to be directly used indoors without treatment, and E0 and E1 can be used directly indoors.

Japan F level certification

The inspected product requires the inspection area to be no less than 0.18 square meters, and it is not allowed to conduct edge banding inspection on the board. F-star certification is a higher certification level than the E0 standard.

F★: Formaldehyde emission ≤5.0mg/L

F★★: Formaldehyde emission ≤1.5mg/L

F★★★: Formaldehyde emission ≤0.5mg/L

F★★★★: Formaldehyde emission ≤0.3mg/L

Finland M level certification

M-level certification is recognized as the most stringent and demanding product certification standard in the world, and its requirements for product toxic emissions standards are extremely stringent.

M3: Formaldehyde emission ≤0.15mg/㎡

M2: Formaldehyde emission ≤0.125mg/㎡

M1: Formaldehyde emission ≤0.05mg/㎡

American CARB certification

CARB certification is currently the world's most stringent standard for formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products, and requires factories to strictly follow the quality management system required by laws and regulations to supervise the production process of the factory. CARB is divided into three grades for wood composite products: P1, P2 and NAF.

P1 level

hardwood veneer plywood formaldehyde emission<0.08ppm

Particleboard: formaldehyde emission<0.18ppm

medium density fiberboard: formaldehyde emission<0.21ppm

P2 level

Companies are required to meet the P1 formaldehyde emission standard, and they must establish a quality control laboratory and a quality management system to supervise their products in strict accordance with laws and regulations to ensure that the plywood produced are all qualified products.

NAF level

hardwood plywood: formaldehyde emission<0.05ppm/m

Particleboard: formaldehyde emission<0.09ppm/m

Medium density fiberboard: formaldehyde emission<0.11ppm/m

More environmental certification standards: FloorScore certification, SGS certification, FSC certification, CARB certification, etc.

Environmental protection board purchase

See certification

First of all, look at whether there is such an environmental mark certification mark on the back of the board. Generally speaking, only companies that are certified as qualified for environmental protection can affix this mark. This can also be used as a reference standard for measuring whether the company's products are qualified.

See qualification

Since the production cost of environmental protection grade E2 is lower than that of E1 grade, some unscrupulous manufacturers will seize the consumer’s greedy psychology and recommend E2 grade panels that are restricted to outdoor use to consumers. When purchasing interior decoration panels, it is best to see if the signs on the side of the board are meet the standards E1, E0-level.

Choose a store

Consumers still consider going to some large building materials stores to sell environmentally friendly panels that are more secure when purchasing. Their purchase channels are still very formal and the after-sales service is good.

See report

It is difficult to see the pros and cons of the board with the veneer. Therefore, consumers should read the inspection report of the board when buying. The cost of glue and waterproofing agent in the board accounts for a large part. If poor quality glue is used, the environmental performance may not meet the environmental protection requirements of the national standard.

Look at the brand

Quality is also something that every brand must guarantee, and big brands pay more attention to product quality and are also subject to the supervision of outside parties. If consumers can't judge the quality of the board, it is best to choose the products of the big brands, so that the quality is relatively guaranteed.
