WBP is the abbreviation of "Water Boiled Proof". "Water Boiled Proof" means weather resistance, water boiling or steam treatment. If WBP glue is used for plywood and film faced plywood, this kind of plywood can be used for a long time (or even permanent) outdoors (weather resistance), waterproof (boiling in boiling water is no problem), and moisture-proof (boiling in water). Don't be afraid, let alone moisture-proof). Similar to the meaning of "MR glue", WBP glue is not the name of a certain glue. WBP is a characteristic or characteristic of a certain type of glue.
A simple method to test the weather resistance of wbp plywood and WBP film faced ply is boiling test, that is, put the sample in boiling water and boil it. If the sample has not been glued in boiling water for a long time, we can say that the plywood has the characteristics of weather resistance and boiling water resistance, and the plywood is weather resistant and boiling water resistant plywood (type l plywood).
Common WBP glues are melamine glue (trimeric glue for short) and phenolic glue. Generally speaking, common plywood can be kept in boiling water for about 4 to 8 hours without opening. A good trimer glue plywood can be kept in boiling water for more than 10 hours or even 20 hours without opening. Ordinary phenolic film plywood can be kept in boiling water for about 24 to 72 hours without opening. The best phenolic glue is permanent glue, and the corresponding plywood is difficult to open in boiling water.
It should be noted that the weather resistance and boiling resistance of plywood depends not only on the quality of WBP glue, but also on the production process and the quality of the core board.
Generally speaking, the glue used for best outdoor plywood (such as marine plywood, film faced shuttering plywood, structural plywood, plywood for billboards, etc.) is WBP weather-resistant and boiling-resistant glue. In fact, WBP weather-resistant and boiling-resistant glue is also often used for indoor plywood, such as plywood for furniture, plywood for kitchenware, size plywood for subfloor, and other plywoods with high quality requirements that require weather resistance and boiling resistance.
