Causes of thickness deviation of MDF

I believe that both mdf sheet manufacturer and MDF distributors often receive feedback from customers: the actual thickness of the boards purchased by customers is not the same as the thickness they require. Under normal circumstances, the normal thickness deviation value of the plate is ±0.2mm. Of course, due to various reasons in the production process of the panel, the thickness deviation and quality problem of the finished mdf product will also occur. So what are the main reasons for the thickness deviation of MDF?

1. Uneven paving of raw materials

In the production process of MDF, the uniformity of raw material paving is one of the important factors affecting the thickness deviation of the finished mdf product. If there is a slab with uneven weight or uneven pavement on the left and right sides, it will lead to thickness deviations of other layers of slabs, resulting in "wedge-shaped slabs" and ultra-thick and ultra-thin slabs.

2. Deformation of hot plate

At present, the deviation of the thickness of the MDF produced by most of the mdf board manufacturers in world is caused by the deformation of the hot pressing plate. There are two main reasons for the deformation of the hot-pressed panel: uneven heating during preheating, and the temperature rises too fast; in the production process, there are situations such as missing slabs, light slabs, and short slabs.

3. The position of the slab is asymmetric in the hot pressing panel

When the position of the slab in the hot pressing panel is asymmetrical, the hot pressing panel cannot always maintain a horizontal state during the pressing process, resulting in thickness deviation.

4. Inaccurate position control of hydraulic system

The editor will briefly describe the working principle of the multi-layer press: generally, the multi-layer machine uses multiple oil cylinders to work at the same time. In some presses, all the oil cylinders are directly connected to the same pressure pipe. The pressure is the same at all times and cannot be changed and adjusted individually, so thickness deviations caused by uneven paving, asymmetrical position of the slab in the platen cannot be overcome.
