Plywood
Advantages: Small deformation, large format, convenient construction, no warpage, good horizontal tensile strength.
Disadvantages: The cost is relatively high, and the amount of glue is large. The surface layer is not as smooth as MDF, and the base layer is not as firm as MDF.
Application: Furniture, such as some panel materials for cabinets, wardrobes, tables, chairs, etc.; interior decoration, such as ceilings, wall skirts, floor liners, etc.
Joinery Board
Advantages: The market specifications are uniform (1220×2440mm), easy to process, good nail holding power, not easy to deform, light in weight, and easy to construct.
Disadvantages: In the production process, a large amount of urea-formaldehyde glue is used, and the formaldehyde emission is generally high, and it is afraid of moisture.
Application: Furniture, door and window covers, partitions, false walls, heating covers, curtain boxes and other places that require certain support strength and relatively stable environmental humidity and heat, generally avoided in kitchens and bathrooms.
Particle board
Advantages: Low price, sound absorption, sound insulation, pollution resistance, aging resistance, beautiful appearance, and can be painted and various veneers.
Disadvantages: The density is heavier, and the weight of the manufactured furniture is heavier; the edges are rough and easy to absorb moisture, and the edges should be sealed to prevent deformation. Especially the door hinges of cabinets, if they fall off or become loose due to abnormal external force, it is basically difficult to fix them again.
Application: Ceilings and ordinary furniture are generally not suitable for making larger furniture.
MDF board
Advantages: The surface is smooth and flat, the material is fine, the performance is stable, the edge is firm, and the surface is well decorated.
Disadvantages: The moisture resistance is poor, and the nail holding force is worse than that of particleboard. If it becomes loose, it is difficult to fix it again.
Application: Laminate flooring, door panels, partition walls, furniture, etc. Generally, MDF is used for furniture.
Fireproof board
Advantages: Bright colors, various forms of edge banding, abrasion resistance, high temperature resistance, anti-penetration resistance, easy to clean, moisture-proof, non-fading, delicate touch, affordable, avoiding indoor painting and reducing pollution.
Disadvantages: The door panel is flat, unable to create three-dimensional effects such as bumps and metal, and the fashion sense is slightly worse.
Application: Furniture surfaces, kitchen cabinet panels, kitchen countertops, showcases, laboratory countertops, exterior walls and other fields. When the fireproof board is used, it is pressed together with other boards.
Melamine mdf
Advantages: The surface is flat, not easy to be deformed, bright in color, the surface is more wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and the price is economical.
Disadvantages: The edge banding is easy to collapse, the glue marks are more obvious, the texture is more, but the color selection is less, and the edge can only be straight.
Application: It is often used in the decoration of indoor buildings and various furniture and cabinets, such as some panels, walls, cabinet surfaces, cabinet laminates, etc. Not suitable for floor decoration.
Baking paint board
Advantages: Bright colors, diverse choices, easy to clean, have a certain light-filling effect on the space.
Disadvantages: High craftsmanship requirements, high scrap rate, high price, fear of bumps and scratches, damage is difficult to repair, it must be replaced as a whole; kitchens with more oily fume are prone to color aberration.
Application: Mainly used for cabinets, doors, etc.
Gypsum board
Advantages: Lightweight, sound insulation, non-combustible, sawn and nailable, beautiful.
Disadvantages: Poor moisture resistance.
Application: Internal partition walls, wall cladding panels, ceilings, sound-absorbing panels, ground base panels and various decorative panels, etc.
Fancy plywood
Advantages: Many kinds, wide use, good decoration effect
Disadvantages: The prices are uneven and it is difficult for consumers to distinguish
Application: Different decorative panels have different uses: wood veneer panels are often used as surface materials for home decoration or furniture manufacturing; plastic panels are used for decoration in larger areas; paper veneer panels are used for wall decoration, surface decoration of handicrafts, etc.; Metal foil veneer is used for metal texture surface decoration and so on.
